Ladies Event players are back from their first break of the day and we have a leader with Sarah Weyer looking like the big stack in the room with 63,800 heading into Level 5. She caught a nice hand and pot as the break was approaching when she was three-ways to a flop.
The small blind opponent opened and Weyer raised to 2,200. Dawn Wilno released and the small blind called to the turn. The small blind player bet 3,000 and Weyer called to see the river. The small blind checked, Weyer went to Value Town with a 6,000 bet and she picked up a call. She tabled for a flush to top her opponent’s .

With every new entry, we seem to have another reunion of one kind or another with the latest happening when Borgata regular Judy Bielan joined the fun. Pictures were taken, hugs were handed out, laughs were had.
Bielan is back east after a couple nice results in Las Vegas including a deep run in the 8,920-entry WSOP Giant field, a final table in the Big Low Roller at Planet Hollywood, and another final table in the Grand Poker Series Ladies Event.

Borgata Summer Poker Open Schedule 2019
There aren’t many Borgata poker regulars who don’t recognize Nancy Martin when she’s in the poker room. She’s a loyal regular who also champions the cause of getting more women involved in poker. Martin encourages her fellow grinders and keeps the games fun and hopping.
Martin also has her skills at the table. She has eight recorded tournament titles at some poker room in North Philly but her biggest score came right here when she had a runner-up finish in the 2015 Borgata Spring Poker Open Seniors event for more than $10,000. Martin’s last cash was in this room as well with a final table appearance during the most recent Borgata Spring Poker Open Ladies Event.

Dawn Wilno is no stranger to big runs in these tournaments. The Borgata regular has nine Ladies Event final tables with eight of them coming here and a WSOP Circuit Ladies Event title from 2010. Not just a specialist in these fun tournaments, she also has two final tables in Pot Limit Omaha/No Limit Hold’em mix events.
Wilno is doing well again today and pushed her 20,000 starting stack up to 36,500 before noon.

The Ladies Go First field is moving along nicely and they are closing in on 40 entries after the first level. The good times are still rolling and the tournament is turning into a Barry Manilow sing-a-long in between (and sometimes during) hands.
The popular singer/songwriter/heartthrob just finished up a two-show set over the weekend and he’s still fresh in everyone’s head.

We are almost ready to start the 2018 Borgata Summer Poker Open and we have a special tournament ready to kick off the series. The first open event starts on Tuesday but we are closing out the July 4th holiday weekend with a “Ladies Go First” tournament in the poker room. The tournament is open to our great female grinders and some of our most loyal players.
It will be a great way to start off the series and we expect to see a lot of familiar faces having a great time at the tables with some big cash waiting for the winner along with the glass Borgata trophy.

Late registration is open until the start of Level 9 around 3:30pm and unlimited re-entries are available during that time. They will continue moving into the afternoon and evening hours until we crown our first champion of the series.
Cards go in the air at 11am and we will bring all the action.
- Players begin with 20,000 in chips and play 30-minute levels
